Are there any restrictions on profile pictures? If your profile picture isn't safe for work, is pornographic, or otherwise offensive, we may ask you to change it. Users whose profile pictures portray nazi symbolism of any kind will be banned without question.
Who can ping discusser roles?Anyone can ping the discusser roles with a prompt at any time. If the roles are used without prompts or abused, it will be noted and handled appropriately.
What should I do if I know someone on the server did something off the server that you might want to know about?Start a ticket! It’s possible it might not be information we choose to act on, but we always welcome any kind of information you think might be important.
What sorts of things are important for bridge to know about regarding off-server behavior? We would be most interested in knowing about information being shared from the server such as screenshots or saved photos or selfies, predatory user behavior, inappropriate or consent violating messages in DMs, etc. If something someone else elsewhere makes you feel unsafe, please let us know.
Who can run events?Anyone of the rank Earth or higher can utilize the event feature to run events on the server, such as streaming events, voice chat events, game nights, etc. Users who are verified can additionally create verified voice events.
How do I know what's allowed in a channel? You can check the channel description as well as the write up in Server Directory.
Where are channel descriptions and how do I read them?Channel descriptions are on every channel. On desktop you can see them at the top of the channel. On mobile, you have to open the channel and participant panel by sliding to the left in the channel you want to access.
Why do we have so many roles? Are there any that are especially important?Roles serve a lot of purposes in a server this size! Some roles give you access to new channels, some roles let you be pinged for events or discussions, and some roles just give useful information to people who check them, such as your pronouns! Roles under the Personal Roles category are the most important to note because this section tells you how to refer to fellow server members and if there are any restrictions to interacting with them (such as our No Pings role!). Server roles are important because they determine what permissions you’ve unlocked in the server, as well!

Please take extended discussions of the following to their respective channels:Lewd Topics (Cheeky Chat)Kink Topics (Kinky Chat)Alcohol (Cantina)Drugs (Vices)Food/Cooking (Gastronomy)Politics (Serious Discussion)
Do I need to spoil curses? No.
My name is a kink title. Do I have to change it?That depends! If your name only INCLUDES a kink title, but also includes something else that users can call you, we don't need you to change anything. If your name is ENTIRELY a kink title, we absolutely will need you to change your server nickname to provide users with an alternative. For example, "Sir Chris" would be acceptable because other users could call this user "Chris"--but if the username were just Sir, it wouldn't be acceptable.
My name is regarded as a kink title by many but I don't use it in that way. Should I change it?Unfortunately, yes. We have no way to prove one way or another that your usage is innocent, so all kink titles are held to the same usage, regardless of stated intent.
Can I mention my interests in kink, substances, or what I'm looking for in a partner in my introduction? You can mention kink or substances if the content is spoiled with the appropriate CWs preceding the spoiler, though we would prefer you leave that content for appropriate channels. You may not use your introduction as a 'looking for' personal post. We are not a dating server.
I use a kink title for my partners in day to day life. Can I use those when talking about them in the general server? It depends! Non-explicit titles are perfectly acceptable if that is how you usually refer to your partner--such as Sir, Goddess, Daddy, etc. However, if your name for your partner is explicit, we will ask you to refrain from using that name or referring to your partner in the SFW sections of the server
How do you verify?Upon being in the server for over a week and hitting the Earth activity level, please create a ticket and request verification! This will trigger a human review by the bridge crew to ensure that anyone requesting access to verified has achieved the required rank and activity levels, as well as has not demonstrated questionable behavior.
Can anyone verify after hitting Earth? No. Verification involves a short human review period where the Bridge Crew is given a chance to examine previous behavior and vote on the introduction of any new user to verification. Some people can and have been rejected from verification in the past. Once you’ve passed human review, a bridge member will ask you to DM your information. To verify, you will need to provide 1) a picture of your photo ID with all information redacted except the birthday and your photo and 2) a selfie of yourself holding a piece of paper with your discord name, the date, and the server name.
Why might someone be rejected from verification during human review? The verified space is a protected space that is carefully cultivated to feel safe for its users. It is a privileged space that we keep people out of for any number of reasons including but not limited to:History of HostilityEvidence of bad faith argumentsExcessive attention seeking behaviorEvidence of bigotryLack of meaningful activity
How does human review work?Active bridge members call a vote on any new verification request and are given a period of time to note any previous concerns and cast their vote. No single dissenting voice prevents a verification, only a majority vote revolving around server based evidence.
What information does Constellations keep from people who verify? The only thing we record is your discord name, discord ID number, birthdate, and the date the verification was completed. We do not save any of the photos you provide and will, in fact, ask you to delete them as soon as the verification process has concluded.
I don't want to or can't share my photo ID because of privacy issues/my job/etc. What are my options?Because the verified section of the server is completely optional and does not contribute to the core goal of the server, we do not consider access to it a priority and exceptions to our verification process are not guaranteed. However, accommodations may be made at the discretion of the Crew and the willingness of those Crew to share alternative communication methods. Request accommodations in your ticket and a crew member will let you know if they are willing to share an alternative (such as Signal).
What is cross verification? If you have verified in Constellations or any of the partner servers we list cross verification with, you don't have to provide photo ID to verify in any of the other servers to verify. You DO still have to meet verification requirements for the server (Earth/One Week)
How dare you remove my verified role just because I wasn't active! I'm busy/don't feel safe in the general server/only want to talk about verified topics! Our verified section is a supplemental portion of the server that isn’t related to our core purpose. If you aren’t active in the core purpose of our server, you don’t need to be in our verified section. If you don’t feel safe in our general server, please find a server where you do feel safe. If you only want to talk about verified topics, please seek out a server meant for them. Our partner servers include several great options for those.
Why do we require a week and earth before someone can verify? Our verified section is a protected space that we only want to give access to when we have a feel for who a person is. The time and post limit provides space for us as a community to report any discomfort, as bridge to note any concerns, and as a whole to make sure that no trolls or creeps immediately get servers to abuse sensitive information of members.
Why do we require people to be active outside of the verification section and memes to stay verified?Part of keeping our verified section safe for its users is making sure that users understand who has access to their information. To that end, if a user isn't active on the server, they aren't allowed access--ideally, users shouldn’t be looking in the verified section and seeing people with access to their sensitive information that they haven't seen on the server. We don't allow lurkers to just hang out there and have access to people's nudes, and we don't allow people to qualify as 'active' by just scraping memes off facebook and reddit. Verified is also not our core server, so we don't allow people to count as active only in the verified section and never exist outside of it, either.
Privacy and Server Basics
What is the server policy for sharing photos of people besides me?SFW selfies with multiple people can be shared in 📷selfies. Photos of only people who aren't in the server should only be shared in 📷family-albums after verification. NSFW photos of people who aren't also verified AND giving permission may not be shared anywhere on the server.
I want to leave the server, can you delete all my content for me?No. You can delete your own posts if you find it necessary, but this isn't a service we provide.
How do I get people to dm me so I can ask for advice? You maybe befriend people over time until you're in their DMs on the regular. Otherwise, we don't have a community culture of DMing advice--post your issues in more-advice or seeking-advice and people will offer advice as they have the energy and interest to do so.
I don't want a group of people to interact with me on the server. Will staff help me uphold a wide spread DNI request? No and we will request that you take them down if posted publicly. DNI requests targeted at any group of people are not part of the community culture we choose to cultivate. If you only want to engage or be perceived by specific types of people, we welcome you to please find servers that provide that type of safe space for you to engage.
How do I get hot poly people to date me?Go on dating apps, meet people at local meetups, and put an effort in the same as dating mono. OKC is generally one of the best dating apps for ENM because it allows you to filter out mono people. We can give you advice and judge your profiles, but this is not a dating server, and you will probably not find hot poly people who want to date you here.
Can I DM people?Check their roles! If they don't have "DMs Open", then no. If they have Ask to DM, you can do so in ask-to-dm when you've gained access to the channel. In general, if you've just joined the server, you should not be DMing OR friend requesting any member of the server until you've built up rapport with them on the actual server or they've given explicit permission.
What happens if I leave the server and come back? For the most part, not a lot! We encourage users to leave and come back as they feel it's necessary. You will have a week delay before you can re-verify after you come back, though, and it's always possible that we'll run a purge of the scoreboard and you can lose your activity roles. If you let us know before hand that you're just taking a hiatus, we can record where you are for activity and make sure the activity roles are returned to you!
What information does Bridge Crew store?Bridge has multiple logs from multiple bots detailing everything from the join and leave logs to a snap of deleted or edited posts. We do not save any pictures or any posts deleted by our auto-delete bots, such as in releasing pressure. We also save birthdates from users who verify for the purposes of our cross verification process with partner servers, but do not save the pictures or other information shared with us during the verification process. Logs typically are only used in the event of rule violations, such as to confirm a post was edited but previously contained a slur or to confirm a post was deleted.
What is the starboard and how does it work? The Starboard is a channel where Carl-Bot stores posts that users have decided are funny or important enough to be immortalized there. You end up on the starboard if three people, not including yourself, react to your post with a star. Posts that utilize the reply feature, posts in the verified channels, posts in the bridge channels, or posts that reach the star threshold when Carl-Bot is down will not end up on the starboard.
What do I do if something I said was put on the starboard but I don't want it there?Just let a member of the bridge know and we’ll delete it!
Who can I flirt with?Anyone who gives you permission to! Build a rapport first or you’ll make people uncomfortable. If the flirting gets too extensive, take it to DMs. Don’t flirt with people who have the No Flirting role, and make sure you ask before flirting with someone who has the Ask Before Flirting role.
What is the difference between our active role and the planetary points given? The active role is held by any member with 25 posts over the past 2 weeks and notes recent activity level. The planet roles are earned over time based on how many total posts have been made and note how active you’ve been on the server as a whole. Posts in memes, verified, etc, do not count towards the active role but may count towards the planet roles.
I don't think we need this role. How do I make bridge get rid of it?You can offer it as a suggestion, but honestly, if a single user finds a role useful and we aren't incredibly low on roles, we'll probably keep it.
What can I make suggestions about?Anything you think is important on the server! Suggest policy changes, new roles, channel ideas, events, and anything in between. Bridge will discuss all serious suggestions as they come through.
Is there a timeline for answering suggestions?Unfortunately not! All Bridge Crew members are volunteers who put in time around a lot of real life obligations. Since we aren't being paid for our work, we don't really operate on schedules. We try to get to major issues or time sensitive items as soon as we can, but larger projects or less important changes might sit for a while until someone has the time to address. You can improve suggestions by researching your suggestions in advance and giving us the important information we might need if your suggestion involves something like a bot change or suggestion, or by volunteering to work on a suggested project if it is something that will take a lot of time or effort.
Can I make an anonymous suggestion?Yes! We maintain and monitor an anonymous form submission box linked in our server info channel and also found at the following url: https://forms.gle/PmuRta7zcpvqdrUT8
Can I add additional users to a ticket?Yes! If your ticket is about a topic that involves more than you, you can give us a list of users you'd like us to add and we can add them to the ticket.
Can I have a public ticket?Unfortunately, we don't offer this option currently because we've found that people tend to talk over each other and things get messy.
How many mods will interact in my ticket?Bridge policy is that no more than 2 bridge crew members will interact in a ticket unless requested.
Can I have a ticket that excludes <members of bridge crew> or limit which mods can respond to my ticket? You may request that bridge be excluded or not respond, though we do limit this to up to half of the current Bridge Crew with the On Deck role. You may not designate only a few mods you’re willing to talk to. Not all of our crew members handle tickets or want to be involved in direct conflict and not all of them will have the spoons or time to handle a ticket at the specific time you may want them to be involved.
When should I open a ticket?Literally any time you want to document something! Open a ticket to report something questionable, let us know something seems a bit off, report a vibe, report something that happened in a DM that's relevant to the server, give us information that's important for us to have, or just because you want to ask a question.
What should I do if I see a rule violation?Ping @bridge crew in the channel it happened if it’s an immediate concern, ping us in #ask-Bridge-Crew if you want us to notice something like an introduction, or start a ticket if it’s an ongoing behavior you want to flag. Starting a ticket helps us document things that we might otherwise not have noticed or recognized as a pattern!
How do I know when a bridge crew member is talking as a moderator or as a member? If a crew member is interacting in bridge specific channels such as ask-bridge-crew, they are operating in their bridge capacity. If a crew member is interacting in general channels, you can assume you are talking to them as a member unless they preface a message with [Bridge] to explicitly denote that they are commenting in the context of their role.
What happens if two members of bridge crew disagree about something? This happens frequently! Bridge Crew will discuss the disagreement as a whole and come to a compromise or vote on a solution. It is rare for every member of the crew to agree on every single decision, but we can usually come to some level of agreement to move forward. If we can't, we may poll the server for additional views and voices.
Can I choose which moderators I interact with? You can choose not to interact with moderators in their member capacity and they will be held to the same block rules as any other user. It's bridge crew policy for members of the crew to also abstain from votes related to you or from posting in an official capacity towards you if there is someone else available to handle an issue. You may also request that a given crew member not interact in your tickets specifically (no more than half of the active crew at a time). However, if there is no other member of bridge currently available when a bridge correction needs to be made, they may interact in their official capacity.
How are bridge crew members chosen?Bridge Crew applications exist on a rolling basis at all time and users can apply by checking application-for-bridge-crew. Applications are discussed by existing bridge crew and concerns are brought up in a candid discussion that will be deleted before the new potential staff is recruited, so that existing bridge can be honest with concerns without fearing retaliation in the future. Existing Bridge Crew will vote on possible new recruits and typically that vote will be a simple majority vote. No single member of bridge can prevent a new bridge member from being added and there is a strong precedent for complaints to be evaluated for bias, so possible bridge should have no fear that a disagreement with a single person might block them.
How are decisions made in Bridge Crew?By majority votes! Bridge is always in seek of a variety of voices and backgrounds to make sure that decisions are considered from as many angles as possible. Most decisions operate on a simple majority vote of active bridge crew.
What is considered when new people apply for Bridge? The application itself is a huge part of the process, but we'll also consider previous rule violations, any ongoing issues, and a user's general activity in the server. We also prioritize diverse backgrounds, knowledge bases, and especially time zones.
What does it mean that some Bridge Crew have a role called On Deck?Bridge Crew is a large group of people with varied interests and projects running behind the scenes. Crew members with the On Deck role are those who are considered active voters for the sake of mundane server decisions such as verification checks, message approvals, etc.
What happens if I apply for Bridge Crew and get turned down?Nothing changes! We’ll let you know that we’ve decided not to accept your application, but you don’t lose any rights or privileges in the server or anything.
How soon can I apply again for Bridge Crew after being turned down?We usually ask for a 3 month period between applications.
Is there a limit to how many times you can apply to Bridge Crew? There isn’t a limit that we’ve set.
Does a member of Bridge Crew who leaves the server have to reapply when they get back?If they leave without telling us it’s a hiatus and actually drop as Bridge Crew, yes. If they leave temporarily for a small leave of absence and tell us that’s the plan, then no.
Is there a time limit in the server before being in Bridge? Not officially, but users who have been on the server longer are more likely to know norms and be well known enough to be accepted.
Does a former bridge member applying for crew again need to follow the full application process?Yes. Our current precedent is that former crew members who want to reapply are expected to fill the full application out.
What are the benefits of being part of the Bridge Crew? You get to pick an emoji, sometimes you can accidentally ignore slow mode, and you get to help shape the server and vote on server issues. In addition, you gain the ability to maintain things on the server without needing to wait for someone in the crew to have the time. Mostly it’s just volunteering for a lot of work and effort!
What happens if a bridge member is personally invested in a problem, like if their partner breaks a rule?Bridge crew are expected to abstain from votes and discussions on their partners unless they have pertinent information to share about the specific situation.
What happens if a Bridge Crew member is on Hiatus? This only means that a crew member has advocated that they won’t be available for a period of time for bridge needs. This means that they won’t be counted towards active bridge members when it comes to votes that occur during their hiatus and won’t be called upon behind the scenes for ongoing discussions, concerns, etc.
A bridge crew member on Hiatus just reminded me of a rule, is that considered a warning?Likely not. Bridge Crew are only speaking with authority when they actually have the [Bridge] tag in their text. If a bridge crew member is using that tag, regardless of hiatus status, it means they are speaking with authority and their directions should be followed. If there’s no tag, they’re just giving you a gentle reminder and not speaking officially.
What is the server policy on blocking? Why should you block someone?Short answer--because you want to.
We don’t judge or monitor how or why people choose to use their block feature. It’s perfectly valid to block someone because their posts aren’t great for your mental health, because they use language you aren’t comfortable with, or simply because you do Not Vibe. You don’t owe anyone an explanation of why you’ve blocked someone, and we won’t ask for one.
We highly encourage the use of the block feature for every user to curate their personal experience on our server when situations, conversations, or other individuals cause distress in a way that otherwise doesn’t break any rules or invoke bridge crew involvement.
Can I block a member of the bridge?Yes! Bridge members are users the same as the rest of the server. Block them if you need to. However, Bridge members acting in their role are not subject to rules on block evasion, such as in the event of needing to issue a correction. We will do our best to honor blocks when we have the time and option to do so.
A member of the bridge blocked me!! What do I do?Nothing–bridge members are members the same as the rest of the server and are allowed to block whomever they feel necessary. Bridge crew members with blocks will perform official actions using a message bot when possible if doing otherwise would prevent a user from being able to properly engage with the server, such as in situations where emoji based votes are being utilized.
Someone blocked me and I'm upset about it!We're sorry to hear that! However, we encourage people to use the block feature as best serves them and we will not penalize anyone for doing so.
What is block evasion?Block evasion is defined as a user knowingly attempting to contact someone who has blocked them, with the knowledge that they have been blocked, such as but not limited to using alternate accounts, posting through proxies, or following them around the server to ensure you’re involved in conversations with them. We consider this to be a form of harassment on Constellations.
However, if you have blocked a user but continue to interact with them in the server, you are giving up the protection from the block and we will not step in and uphold consequences for block evasion in those cases. We recommend not interacting at all with users you have blocked.
In order for a user to be considered block evading, that user must be explicitly aware of the fact that they have been blocked. If you have blocked a user and find that they are interacting with your posts, replying to you in the server, etc, and don’t have evidence that they are aware of the block, you may reach out to Bridge Crew and we will formally inform the user that they shouldn’t be interacting with you. Further interaction will be considered block evading.
Bridge will only get involved in informing a user of a block once and only if that user has been interacting with you despite the block. We are not a tool to be used to cause drama and will not allow this system to work around our rules against DNI enforcement.
Someone I blocked and I are taking parts in an ongoing discussion while not discussing each other. What should happen?Ideally, if you're not responding to each other, you are both doing what you should be doing. Neither of you is expected to remove yourself from the server to benefit the other. You're just expected to not interact with each other. That said, patterns of behavior that indicate a blocked user is actively following the person who blocked them around the server just to interact in the same conversations will be noted and may be penalized.
Someone who blocked me is hopping into my discussion. Can I engage with them if they engage with me with no penalty?Yes. A user who has blocked you, but is interacting with you anyway, is giving up any protections we might offer regarding block evasion.
How does blocking interact with Voice Chat? The expectation is that you will leave your issues at the door and be civil and polite if you have to interact. You should also be paying attention to their icon to know when the other person is talking if you have them muted so that you aren't talking over each other and ruining the experience for other voice chat users.
In an ideal world, we would prefer that users with blocks simply don’t join the same voice chats and may ask for that separation if overlap becomes an issue. This doesn’t apply to server events, where anyone is welcome.
Systems & PluralKit
Why do some people have BOT tags? This server is system/plural friendly! As such, system members use Pluralkit as a proxy to create multiple sub-profiles for the main profile so they don’t have to constantly log in and out of discord. When Pluralkit runs as a proxy, it embeds messages and creates the ‘BOT’ tag. Users with the BOT tag are not actually bots, they’re just communicating using a bot!
You can react with ❓ on any bot proxied message to get more info about the original sender. To notify a system, you can react with ❗ to catch their attention!
Can I use pluralkit? You are welcome to use Pluralkit if you are a system. We ask that this tool not be used for roleplaying, jokes, or any other uses outside of the plural community.
Are there limitations in what can be posted with PluralKit?The bot itself has some limitations, such as photo size limits. Please look up PluralKit for documentation. In addition, because of how embedded messages work, Constellations itself places restrictions on what can be posted using the bot. Messages that use petspeak, littlespeak, roleplay, etc, are not allowed.
I am a system with a little/nonhuman alter. Can they talk on the server?Constellations is a server that is 18+. If your alter isn’t 18+, they are not welcome on the server and should not be speaking here. Unfortunately, if you are unable to prevent them from doing so, you as a user will also be removed from the server. If your alter is some form of nonhuman, they’re welcome so long as they do not engage in roleplay-esque actions which are otherwise disallowed when using PluralKit.
